Day 4
The Isle of Dreams
Another day filled with wonderful adventures...
We start out with Breakfast at our hotel
Duration: 00:00.15 sec.
I must say, that looks more like dessert than breakfast... |
Our group exiting out the back way with our new local tour guide, JenCarla - she left as I took the picture - you can barely see her blond hair as she leaves to the left. |
Loading into the Funicular on our way to the dock. |
Setting up to take a quick video. This is a family that was in our group. |
Duration: 00:00.29 sec.
Exiting the station. This is Jimmy who loaned us 20 Euros as we worked out our ATM card dilemma. |
Now we are on a smaller boat with a local driver taking us 3/4 around the Isle of Capri |
Our tour guide pointing out the rock formation that look like "donkey ears". |
The locals call the water, "Blue Water". It is breath-takingly beautiful. |
I'm trying to capture the red rocks just below the surface of the water. You can barely see the glimmering red rocks in this photo. |
I'm trying to capture the beauty of the water. In a later photo you will see just how clear the water is as you look at the bottom of the sea. |
Here the guide is pointing out the rock shape of an elephant. See it? |
Supposedly there was blue rock in this landform. I couldn't really figure it out. |
Here's the picture I was telling you about... this is the bottom of the sea. So clear! |
Approaching Lovers Lane. (In the distance you can see the beautiful Faraglioni rocks) |
and if they'd kiss in the middle of the arch their relationship
would last forever!

Duration: 00:00.25 sec.
Heading back to where we started. |
Another look at the land forms. I love the different shades of green. |
Usually when you take a picture in the sun it doesn't turn out too well. This one isn't too bad. |
Our destination is in sight. |
There was a recent rock slide here I tried to capture in this picture. |
Back at the port of Capri. |
Now we're on a different boat bound for Positano. This is Mount Vesuvius in the distance. |
That was a quick ride - here it is - Positano. Positano is part of the infamous Amalfi Coast. |
Another view. |
OK my grand children. Can you see Nana in this picture? If you can, I will give you a prize. |
We had to put our feet into the Mediterranean Sea. |
Here's a map which shows the layout of the land. The Isle of Capri is to the bottom left. Positano is located at the point where the yellow, green, & red arrows come together. |
Leaving Positano. The building in the middle is the center of the town. It is a Christian Church. |
To protect the land from pirate invasions, these towers were built and used to notify the people of any kind of enemy invasion. |
Duration: 00:00.24 sec.
End the day with extended free time.
Trying to find a restaurant using the back alleys
Duration: 00:00.16 sec.
We found one just a few feet from our hotel. |
The main entrance to our Hotel Gatto Bianco. |
Calling it a day!
A very good one at that!
